Jealously, aggressive to protect survival (man against woman) Essentialism stresses the biological roots of gender and sexuality, thus ignoring: the historical and cultural variability of gender and sexuality, gender differences change over time. 1970 s masculine and feminine roles are decreasing (the notion changed)
