Other and otherings y the other is that which is not us for whatever reason, either by appearance, biology, behaviour, culture belief, etc. This can be a neutral observation of difference, but very often accompanies an assignment of value and significant to that difference y othering is the act of defining oneself positively against the absolute difference of a defined other. Oppositional relationship: one is either the other, savage or civilized, but can t be both. The superego, id, and ego y according to sigmund freud, our personality is divided into three parts. The id: amoral instinct that seeks immediate and total gratification of pleasure; descriptive and antisocial. The ego: conscious, realistic, socially aware and conditioned. The superego: moralizing, judgement making, internalizing moral standards, controlling, limiting force y the id has been interpreted as the animal . The troll: a love story or not before sundown.
