Document Summary

Many subplots; every character has an encounter with his or her own weakness or vulnerability. Ringo has many encounters-> encounter with dallas, with the sheriff, and the previously est encounter with the plumber boys who killed his brother and his father. The main plot has reached the climax and is dying down, but ringo s plot (which is a subplot) isn t finished yet. Suspense is an anxiety brought on by partial uncertainty. Diegetic is everything we see; non-diegetic are things that aren t part of the universe of the story; won t be tested on extra diegetic ** stagecoach. The lighting in the showdown shots create suspense. Orson welles -> unlike most directors who adopt shakespeare, wells strays away from the original tragedy. In the opening of othello we know it won t be like shakespeare because we are told how the movie ends at the very beginning.
