CSB351Y1 Lecture : Lecture 5
Document Summary
First 5 minutes of lecture recording not available. In some plant viruses again, the capsid protein of the virus plays a role in the transport of virus. Understand this guys, plant viruses, plant cells, they have walls around them, a cell wall. However, cells communicate between each other, which means between cells, you have doors, which means the walls are broken, this is only in plants. In human/animal cells, no wall and cells communicate, i send you, you send me, from place to place. They need someone to transport them, they don"t have muscle. So they use capsid protein + another protein~ write in bold, every plant virus must code for transport protein (special protein only in plant viruses) for plants to move. Transport protein carries plant rna from cell to cell through door, allowing them to communicate. In some cases, plant transport proteins, they enlarge the door from cell to cell.
