So peter loses the ability only because he doesn"t have faith in jesus. Pharisees ask why jesus" disciples transgress how come they don"t wash their hands when they eat bread. Jesus says this doesn"t defile a man but the evil in the heart that is articulated and put forth through the mouth of man defiles a man. People think jesus is john the baptise, elias, or one of the prophets. Peter is faithful believes jesus is christ. Reveals his fate that he will suffer & die in the end.
