It also has a greater need to group types of work into logical units (departmentalization) Effective managers surround themselves with a team of strong subordinates and then delegate sufficient authority to subordinates to get the job done. 4 things to keep in mind when delegating. Feel employees can never do anything right o. Fear something will go wrong if someone else does it o. Some managers don"t delegate as much cuz o. Fear subordinates don"t know how to do it o. Fear that subordinates might show the manger up in front of others: desire to keep as much control as possible o. As the needs of the organization changes mangers bring in temporary workers, lease facilities and outsource basic support services.
