Video: much cheaper to work with people in the community than to imprison them and keep them in jail, building more prisons just to build them up isn"t working. But still prison which doesn"t work to begin with: cjs doesn"t treat crime seriously enough. Jail not always the most appropriate/effective sentence: police should encourage community involvement, putting people in jail isn"t going to automatically fix the problem. If a person does not process the crisis they may become maladapted (unable to adapt: slide 8: not a pathological state: No known point of no return for recovery from crisis.
