NATS 1775 Lecture 11: controversial science
Document Summary
It was a race from scientists all around the world to unlock the secrets of dna. Whoever reached the finish line first would be handsomely rewarded for their ef- forts. Their reputations would be set for life. They would be heavily recognized in the scientific community. Women had a very hard time breaking into the industry, let alone become a part of the race. There was even less opportunity for females to showcase their efforts in this race. These two were at the university of london. From the beginning, these two had a very problematic relationship. Rosalind assumed that they would be working together. Wilkins assumed that because she was a woman, she would be his assistant. Franklin was outgoing and direct (to the point) Wilkins was very laid back and did not talk very much. Rosalind used a technique called x-ray crystallography.
