Notes for cmpt 100 (02) for wed. march. : we will still fall for the obvious spooks, this is inevitable even with the use of ex. firewalls. One prob is that we try to guard the door with passwords and don t protect the inside of our compus. M: war games he ends up playing a compu game while actually hacking into the pentagon. Some of the early hackers were kids, this was called blue hacking. It is not hard to make a virus. Ironically enough a lot of these young hackers became security guards b/c security companies were not able to think in the same we that they are able to. Some of the bad guys have the cure for the virus, but won t cure it until u pay them. The idea that if you have a firewall that you will never get a virus again.
