Assimilation: modify experience to fit current schemas. Assimilation and accommodation are a dynamic learning process that piaget related to babies. Babies don"t have a whole structure and schemas and reality is just telling them everything. This si their initial way of learning about the world. Assimilation is using their current schema to learn about the world. Accomodation: sometimes for the kid everything doenst make sense that way that forces you to accommodate and alter your belief system. Piaget noted that these processes interact over the course of our life resulting in an increasing complex, sophisticated and generally functional view of the world Psychopathology: the prcess of diagnosing a person is not fixed. We have people working in the mental health industry who have rela people coming in to talk to them with all ther complexity with the professionals having to make judgements.
