Started making more scientific statements of the past. 1960 to now is what we call contemporary archaeology. Paradigm: theoretical framework, school of thought , example: biology. Paradigm: darwinian evolution (controversial, but most people agree on this idea or paradigm in the biology field) Materialist vs ideational: etic (outsider"s view) Joining the group and understanding how the community works.
