Document Summary

Transcription factors that can turn on selective genes, transacting proteins and transcription factors are the same thing. From the red blood cell lecture, signal elements are sequences in promoter sequences. Cell peeling is used to isolate lens cells at different stages of development. You take an isolated lens and put it in a medium that does not have magnesium or calcium in the medium. Cells that have receptors, this medium will allow these layers to come off so the cell will not stick to the surface. This will cause the layers to peel off. Then we pull the lens out of the medium and in the beaker the first layer will remain. Place the lens back into the medium to strip off the next layer. It is like peeling the layers of an onion. We then have the three (3) stages of cell differentiation. We use the separation technique, deacellulose, under low salt to increasing salt solution.
