System of progressive penalties - oral warning, written warning, short suspension Cannot suspend ee"s unless employment contract provides for it. May dismiss an ee if there"s just cause. May dismiss ee with reasonable notice and related pay. Other approaches - job sharing, flextime, voluntary pay/time reduction.
