Ex the genetic biodiversity of humans (different skin colours etc) The genetic biodiversity of anything that inhibits earth (ex cow peas that have been breed to different types) Ex flowering plants, cichid fishes in lake victoria. Most commonly used way for the term biodiversity. Ex looking at canada, how many community biodiversities there are of plants (permanent wet lands, tundra etc) It lets us take in all of our world"s ecosystems (larger scale) Very loose term, looking at it globally. All in all, the most typical currency in biodiversity are species; how many different species there are in a given area. There are 1. 75 million species living which have been described living today. 300,000 fossil species that have been described. And on average, 300 new species are being described per day.
