New perspectives on the analysis of human skeletal trauma: 1996: a multidisciplinary workshop at the aafs emphasized the difference between an anthropological perspective versus a paleopathological perspective compared to the interpretation of: Differences between cause, mechanisms and mode of death: cause of death (cod): injury or disease that produces a physiological derangement in the body that causes cessation of bodily functions. E. g. gunshot wound, stab wound, etc: mechanism of death: hysiological derangement produced by the cause of death that results in death. E. g. hemorrhage, etc: manner of death: explains how the cause of death came about.
