Document Summary

Slide 32: there is no single kind of long-term memory (there are around three or more) Episodic memory- ability to replay past events in your mind. Ex: when recalling the last restaurant they visited, they recall other information along with it, like the pictures, food, the people you ate with. Semantic memory- when people ask you technical questions, like the capital of manitoba. These are facts that come to your mind by itself without any extra information. Procedural/ muscle memory- a memory of what the body knows how to do. Ex: riding the bicycle- at first you are fumbling around when coordinating your body, but after practicing several times, the motor movements of your body becomes smoother and becomes engrained in your body. The memory was not majorly conscious but the muscles seem to use them only. Slide 33: there are contrasts between memory tasks.
