Table 1: 92% of neglect overall has no physical harm (except for physical abuse) Physical harm requiring medical attention (4% of physical abuse needing medical attention vs 2% of others not needing medical treatment) 71% of child maltreatment cases do not see immediate harm to child (except for sexual abuse often resulting in emotional harm) Child neglect as one form of child maltreatment.
