Men and women present themselves differently in public. Men are not as picky about their appearance as women. Social pressure, want people to conform for a particular status. In modern societies we have multiple statuses and multiple roles we have to play to keep up with those statuses. We are exposed to similar or distinct patterns of socialization. Girls are discouraged from aggressive behavior, but guys are more likely to engage in that behavior. Culture tells you what, when, what time, and how to eat; nature, all humans must eat. Nature, all humans are supposed to eat but culture tells you where and how to sleep. Children who are constantly put down are not as well adjusted as children who are not. In traditional societies primary socialization time is short. Once in school children begin to develop trends and this is a secondary form of socialization. Gender roles, the mass media and the feminist approach to socialization.
