Less centralist kind of thinking: decentralization takes place in the 1990s. Who are women? anti-essentialism: many classes, ethnicities, colours and sexual orientations. There are often cuts made to women"s groups. There is a rise in social conservatism. Post-structuralism is interpreted of gender and sexuality to 3rd-wave ideology. Women still seen as social interest but less unified or powerful. Mainstream churches were in decline and sold off. We see a fairly dramatic shift in religion as women are leaving the churches: men"s participation has been declining since the beginning of the 20th century. We see a rise in fundamentalist churches due in part to increased immigration. Strongly associated feminism to left-wing pinko policies. Bev oda, rona ambrose, helena guergis are good examples. Highest level of food banks ever in 2010. As food prices increase, people are getting increasingly stressed. Women are still considered to be bystanders.
