Decreased ability to cool down or heat up. A decrease in artery size makes it harder for arteries to dialate. Optimal blood pressure for adults is 120/80. Systolic pressure is peak pressure in the arteries, which occurs near the begininning of the cardiac cycle when the ventricles are contracting. Diastolic pressure is minimum pressure in the artieries, which occurs near the end of the cardiac cycle when the ventricles are filled with blood the more blood your heart pumps, the higher the blood pressure. High blood pressure is common condition in which the force of the blood against your artery walls is high enough that it may eventually cause health problems, such as heart disease. Have no signs or symptoms, even if blood pressure reading reach very high levels.
