Goal of the lecture is to come up with the inventory of major scripts. New one is only possible when scripts get derailed. Anthro is thus the worst science to operate with scripts. Exploration of the open, not yet thought of, the not yet known. We need to know scripts in order to break them and discover new things: bellagio, rockefeller foundation. How does the social suffering script determine approach and attention. Bring into a single space an assemblage of human problems. Suffering is the focus, it"s a human problem, as caused by social force (and its impact on experiences) Kind of medical existentialism: what is and what causes social suffering. What political, economic, and institutional power does to people. How they also respond to social suffering e. g. chernobyl. The bureaucratic response of ukraine gives rise to novel social groupings bound by hopes, fears, fates, and politics that have been made available to sufferers.
