Obvii less informed about the person in question than the person themselves. Correlations between informant and self reports usually suggerst that the reports are coming from valid information that influences both reports. Attractiveness is valid cue (validity of the cue) because there is apositive correlation between self ratings and stranger ratings. The more ifnormation the better and be either way we still have a sense for cues that we naturally have. There is a limit on how much agreement there is between self reports and informant reports. Even if parents who have been with them since the beg. And know them well, there is a limit on the agreement. How much is the lack of agreement due to the self ratings and informant ratings.
