Countries want to maximize their benefits at the expense of others. Economic system on a global scale is what influences all other dimensions. Capitalist market provides us with explanations of all occurrences that are happening. The borders and boundaries between nation-states are fluid; they do not really exist. Transnational processes traverse national borders, making them porous and irrelevant. 3 major paradigms: cultural differentialism: refers to the lasting differences among and between cultures that are unaffected by globalization. Cultures is not completely unaffected, but that the core, fundamental issues involved in cultures remain. Globalization only changes some surface layers of cultures. Cultures are closed not only to globalization, but also to influences of other cultures.
