Document Summary

Centrality has lots of advantages, and each advantage is measured differently. Nodes within some parts of networks (components and cliques) are more connected to one another than to nodes in other parts. Subsitive research- neither theory nor methods- answering research questions instead. But before we need to say what networks are actually talking about. Today we will look at two networks (most fundamental). They are: the network of knowing- who knows who, so fundamental because it underlies everything else, core networks: networks of people who are important in our lives, we interact with them regularly, emotional service, and companionship. These are important because we get a lot of stuff from them (money, services and emotional needs) These networks are so important because they bridge micro macro link which is how we can explain large scale social phenomena even though the way we live our lives is on the micro level.
