Please come here! emphasis on different words in the same structured sentence) It can de-intensify a verbal message a. e. g. Your essay had a few problems, vs your essay had a few problems hesitance indicates not such a harsh review. It can neutralize a verbal message: studies of non-verbal communication and behaviour, proxemics- the study of how we use space. Public: chronemics- the study of time, kinesics: the study of movement through space.
