Purpose: familiarization with the basic matlab features - notations and operations. Outline: matlab is a computer program or programming environment widely used in the engineering industry. Matlab enables one to manipulate data in many ways and has a variety of methods to assist one in visualizing and plotting that data. In this lab the student will use the extensive help features of matlab ( try the command> help help; or select help from the menu) in a self guided exploration of matlab. Lab assignment: using matlab define any two functions f(x) and g(x) and create a plot which shows f(x) versus x, g(x) versus x and f(x)g(x) versus x all on the same graph. You must label the axes on your plot and your plot must include a legend. Put your name and student number somewhere on the plot (as a title if you wish): define some function h(x,y) and create a 3d plot of the h(x,y) vs (x,y).
