Second essay will have two options: two historians arguing, comparison essay, 5 pages. A research essay approximately 10 pages in length. This class is heavily based on lectures. Office hours tuesday 9am 10am, wednesday 4pm-5pm. Two sections to exams: short answers, essay questions. What is history: story of the past. Interpretation of past events: facts about the past, the foundation of modern life, a lesson, collection of primary and secondary accounts, changes in the past which impact the present, study of knowledge of the past.
