Prediction: predict what will happen next, you can never predict the actions of an individual, however you can for an average. Control: trying to control and change a behavior. When studying why a certain behavior or mental process occurs, one can study the influences of: the brain. What emotions, ideas, thoughts does the person have: the group. How brain structure and brain cell activity differ from person to person and situation to situation. How the content of the individual"s mental processes form and influence behaviour. How behaviour is shaped by the social and cultural environments. Many myths and ceremonies developed as a way to describe, explain, predict and control our reality. Philosophy: is the study of knowledge and reality: philosophers posed questions and discussed and proposed solutions.
