Calvin cycle is the light-independent process as it is independent of the light. It occurs in the stroma. The primary step is carbon fixation in which the Glyceraldehyde 3 phosphate (G3P) is produced by the incorporation of the carbon dioxide. In this process, carbon dioxide is needed G3P molecules.
