Background and context

Chromosomes are present inside the nucleus and consist of genetic materials. Chromosomes are made up of protein structures and deoxyribonucleic acid. The chromosomes are found in different shapes in different stages of the life cycle of a cell. The chromosomes are paired structures and there are 23 pairs of chromosomes in a human somatic cell.
