Background and context

Hagfish have a cartilaginous cranium and a fibrous and cartilaginous skeleton, but the notochord is the most important supporting component in the body. 
 
Lampreys are sea creatures that migrate to rivers to procreate. It is a parasite that attaches itself to a huge fish via its suctorial mouth and suckers blood from it. It has a negative impact on fish output. In size and appearance, they resemble Hagfishes. It does, however, have two semicircular canals, a genuine cerebellum and extrinsic eye muscle at a minimum.
