Background and context

Transcription is the process by which the DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) gets separated and produces its complementary strand from on template strand to produce the mRNA (messenger ribonucleic acid). Transcription occurs in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes differently. They both have promoters to initiate transcription, but they are of different sequences.
