Background and context
Prokaryotes (like bacteria) are unicellular cells with no distinct nucleus in them. Also, these cells lack membrane-bound organelles like mitochondria, Golgi apparatus, etc.
The gram staining method is the laboratory procedure that is performed in order to classify or identify the bacteria as gram-positive or gram-negative based on the positive or negative result via gram stain.
