In the given molecule both the left and right-sided carbon atoms are connected to atoms and  atom. Both the carbon atoms on the left and right-hand side forms four covalent bonds. One and three orbitals of atoms are hybridized to give orbitals.

With the hybridization of both the atoms on right and left sides of the molecule is , the molecular geometry is found to be tetrahedral. Here, the central atom is attached to only two atoms. Thus the molecule has trigonal planar molecular geometry of interior atom.
