Background and context

Labor is the dilation and contraction of the cervix. A series of events hormonal actions occur during the labor to deliver the baby. At the end of the third trimester of gestation, labor begins. The baby’s head is towards the opening of the cervix so that it dilates the uterine opening. Hence the cervix will stretch leads to the expelling of the child from the uterus.
