Lipid is a biomolecule that is found in abundant quantity in both plant and animal cells. Lipids are generally non-polar molecules that do not dissolve in water. Lipid is another term for fats. Blood cholesterol levels are highly regulated based on the concentration of saturated and unsaturated fats found in the body.
