Background and context
Fermentation is the term used to refer to all the process that uses organic molecule to regenerate NAD+ from NADH (Nicotine amide adenine dinucleotide). Fermentation occurs in animals as well as in bacteria as in yogurt fermentation. These are generally lactic acid fermentation reactions.
