Background and context

Okazaki fragments are nucleotide-based DNA sequences that are small in length. It is roughly 150-200 base pairs long in eukaryotes. These pieces are generated in eukaryotic organisms during replication and are detected in the lagging strand synthesis. Lagging strands and Okazaki fragments are not present in prokaryotes.
