Background and context

The photosynthesis in plants takes place in two phases, light reaction and dark reaction. In light reaction, the chlorophyll uses the visible spectrum of the sunlight in two photosystems PSI and PSII. The solar energy then releases an electron from the reaction center. The dark reaction takes place in the stroma of the chloroplast.
