The University of Alberta (UA) is one of the best research universities in Canada and a member of the G13 universities of Canada. Over the years, the University of Alberta (UA) has been ranked among the top five universities in Canada. The other four being McGill University, University of Toronto, Queen's University, and UBC. Founded in 1908, the University of Alberta has nearly a hundred years of glorious history, teaching, research, social services and other areas of excellence. The most renowned subjects in the University of Alberta are Earth science, environmental engineering, fish research, petrochemicals, chemistry, environmental science and engineering. The university currently has a full-time student population of 32,500 and five campuses, where the Edmonton city center north of Saskatchewan River main campus is the school's original site. In addition, the main campus is just over three hours from Canada's famous world-class Rocky Mountain Range. Alberta is rich in oil and natural gas, making it one of Canada's most prosperous areas in terms of economic and financial development. Thanks to the provincial government's generous contributions, the University of Alberta has a wide range of advanced facilities and outstanding opportunities for scholarships, as well as a wide range of Canadian institutions for post-graduate employment. These opportunities have attracted many students from other provinces to the university. Moreover, the extensive campus accommodates 400 research laboratories, such as scanning electron microscopy laboratories, two sets of NMR facilities, several agricultural research sites, and the most powerful laser laboratories in Canada. The University of Alberta is home to the second largest scientific research library in Canada with over 1.6 million books consisting of over 14,000 periodicals. It is also one of the members of the Research Libraries Association. Within North America, the Chemical Process Control (CPC) is a unique specialty of U of A. Specialized students study the necessary chemical engineering disciplines, including material and energy balance, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, separation processes, and chemical reactor analysis through nine specialized courses to help them develop their computer and engineering skills. With mathematical analysis, dynamic simulations and other computer-aided control systems becoming more widely used, the project has developed many leaps and bounds. For more than 50 years, the University of Alberta has offered the only degree program in petroleum engineering in Canada. Petroleum engineers are involved in the exploration and development of oil and gas fields in Alberta. They use the principles of geology, physics, crude oil refining and processing. Petroleum engineers recommend the best location for drilling and research on how to economically and economically recycle hydrocarbons, making the position one of Alberta's highly respected occupations.
