Brock University was founded in 1964. Brock University is ranked in the top ten among Ontario universities. Brock University is made up of 18,800 students of which 15,000 are undergraduates, from more than 60 countries and regions. There are 1800 international students, accounting for 9.5% of the population. Brock University has a 90% employment rate 6 months after graduation. This percentage is among the highest of all Ontario universities. Currently, the annual number of students applying to Brock University increases every year. In addition, Brock University is at the forefront of research in all disciplines and as a result is becoming increasingly more popular. As a relatively young school, Brook University does not have the illustrious history of older schools such as the University of Toronto. However, Brock gives one the sense of an unique and innovative spirit and community feeling one can only get from a younger, smaller school. Brock University recently celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014 and continues to exemplify first rate teaching, a friendly campus atmosphere, and cutting edge resources to facilitate and maximize research and learning.
Brock University is one of Canada's leading public comprehensive universities. It is a medium-sized university with a friendly and welcoming community and a picturesque environment. In comparison to other Ontario universities the tuition price is among the lowest. The school is composed of a majority (90%) of undergraduate students, all with various majors. It is also known for its diverse and comprehensive Co-op program. Co-op programs can be a great way to help students gain practical real life experience and opportunities. The Co-op stream allows students to utilize the teachings from class and apply them in real life situations. It provides students not only the theoretical knowledge but also practical experience used in their job field. The experience gained from co-op makes these students more employable after graduation. As a result, Brock's 90% employment rate within 6 months of graduation is partly due to the success of Brock's co-op program.
The school has a well-known masters of business program. Individuals who choose to pursue a master's degree in business (MBA) can specialize in any of these fields: General Business, Business Analytics, Operations Management, Marketing, Human Resource Management, and Finance. In addition, Brock University's business school, the Goodman School of Business, was recently accredited by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario. Similarly, as Brock offers a master's of business program (MBA) Brock also offers master programs in science (MSC) and master programs in arts (MA).
