Appalachian State University is a school with not only great academics, but an incredible community. Just take it from the school's mascot, Yosef. The name Yosef comes from mountain talk for "yourself"' the idea being that if you are a fan, friend or alumnus and have a heart of black and gold, you are Yosef! When you're not cheering on your fellow peers, you'll have the opportunity to learn in one of six undergraduate colleges, 1 music school, and 1 graduate school.

Appalachian offers more than 150 undergraduate and graduate majors and holds an acceptance rate of over 60 percent. With an average class size of just 27 students, you can expect to get the hands-on experience and knowledge you'll need to succeed outside of the classroom. The professors here are dedicated to research and student mentorship; they're truly invested in discovering and sharing new strategies and technologies with the leaders of tomorrow.
