Minnesota State University at Mankato (changed from Mankato State University in September 1998), is a public, comprehensive university. It was founded in 1867, joined the state system in 1957 and gained university status in 1975. It offers more than 150 programs that focus on learning, research and student involvement. Each year, more than 350 employers recruit its graduates. In addition, MSU is a comprehensive university and an affordable investment in your future, where personal attention creates success. Its 354-acre campus is located in Mankato, 85 miles south of Minneapolis-St. Paul.
