About Northern Kentucky University
Northern Kentucky University is a public institution which was founded in 1968. The university is a learner-centered university which is dedicated to a lifelong access education with emphasis on affordable and high-quality education. It promotes a culture which celebrates and fosters excellence in its entire works. The university ranks at number 73 in South Regional Universities and number 27 in Top Public Schools.
Northern Kentucky University has an enrollment of more than 12,000 students with employed 570 full-time faculty and 1,050 full-time staff. It offers 22 graduate, 3 associate, 78 Bachelor's degrees, a doctorate in Nurse Practice and a doctorate in Leadership Education. The university is accredited by SACSCOC (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools).
Aside from class activities, Northern Kentucky University has over 200 clubs and student organizations for students to join, which includes sororities and fraternities. In 2016 fall, the Northern Kentucky University athletics known as 'Norse', moved to a Division 1 Conference, the Horizon League. The team's mascot is known as Victor E. Viking. The university has teams in female volleyball, male and female tennis, female track and field, softball, male and female soccer, male and female golf, male and female cross country, male and female basketball, and baseball.
