The University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB) is located 120 miles north of Los Angeles, in the coastal town of Santa Barbara. The university is close to the Pacific Ocean, with a beautiful view. The campus is closer to Goleta but is administratively attached to Santa Barbara, east of the city of Goleta. The campus can be divided into three main sections: the Main Campus, the Storke Campus and the West Campus. The three parts of the campus surround the Isla Vista community.

UCSB is a great school for scientific research, and is a very highly ranked public university. The university has a beautiful campus environment, which every year attracts many of the world's best research scholars for further study and academic research. UCSB is part of the University of California system and is one of the world's leading institutions of higher learning, along with the University of California at Berkeley, the University of California at Los Angeles, the University of California at San Diego, and the University of California at Davis. The school has over 21,000 undergraduate students along with 2,700 graduate students. There are at least six Nobel Prize laureates among the UCSB faculty and there are 39 members of the faculty who are a party of the National Academy of Sciences.

The university is known not only for its beautiful coastal campus and year round sun, but also for its academics. In the past several decades, the university has developed its electronic engineering, modern physics, and geographic information systems programs to become some of the best in the nation. The city of Santa Barbara, an important city in the Spanish colonial period in California, is a multi-cultural and literary town. The city is also very popular in water activities, such as: swimming, surfing, fishing, tours, and sailing. There is also climbing, hiking, bike riding and other activities to participate in. Santa Barbara also has museums, gardens, opera, concerts, recitals, and other activities. UCSB has also won the favor of college students in the United States, with the reputation of being one of the most fun universities.
