About University of Indianapolis
The University of Indianapolis is a private, coed university that was founded in 1902. Since its founding, it has continued to emphasize a culture of connectedness through service-learning and volunteer work. The university is affiliated with United Methodist Church and hosts worship services on campus; however, many faiths are represented on campus and are encouraged to worship freely. The Meditation Room is specifically designed to be a quiet space for silent reflection, prayer, and meditation for people of all faiths. UIndy has approximately 6,900 undergraduate and graduate students with a student-to-faculty ratio of 12-to-1. The largest programs they offer are in occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, business, education, and communication. UIndy also boasts the only neonatal nurse practitioner program in the state of Indiana. The university was ranked 34th in Regional Universities Midwest by the U.S. News & World Report.
The University of Indianapolis offers a unique experience for each of its student. There are over 50 registered student organizations at UIndy ' like dancing or rugby ' that can help students find their fit on campus. There are seven residence halls that students call home and a large student apartment complex on campus near downtown Indianapolis. UIndy hosts athletic competitions for 23 team sports in the NCAA Division II level, with 14 of those teams qualifying for postseason play in 2017!
