Document Summary
Uses play as the basis for practicing fms while maintaining the important of quality instruction. The teacher instructs then stands back and observes free and structured play. At each play station, 4-6 children follow verbal instructions, diagrams or simple task cards to play" at developing their skills. Play stations can be used at any point of the learning, teaching and assessment cycle. Sometimes play stations can be based on a theme like space or animals that relate to the themes in the classroom. Teacher structured learning: skill practices, obstacle courses, dance, gymnastics, problem solving, simple or cooperative games, task sheet. Invented games: movement to music, dramatic play, playground play.
