Moods = feelings that tend to be less intense than emotions and lack a target. These behaviours cause more emotions (of you and of others). These emotional reactions influence our job performance and satisfaction. Event > emotions > behaviours > more emotions. 6 universal basic emotions: happiness (see next week, anger, surprise, fear = an unpleasant emotion caused by the treat of danger, pain or harm, disgust = an emotion caused by judgements of contamination or impurity. If we saw another person reacting to a food with disgust, we wouldn"t eat it (could be poisonous: sadness = a self-focused emotion associated with a sad event. Counterfactual thinking = an emotion caused by comparing what actually happened to what could have happened if you behaved differently.
