Section 1 what is science: what is meant by the term science? (more than one meaning, science is a multifaceted enterprise comprising of intellectual and practical activity. Through observation and experiment, it covers general truths and laws about the natural and physical world. It is a systematic and methodical practice that is cumulative and self-coveting: knowledge and understanding of a process, the meanings of observation, experiment, hypothesis, theory and their place in the process of science, observation. The process of analysing and perceiving the changes/lack of changes in an experiment. An important process as it allows the collation of data. A procedure carried out with the goal of verifying, refuting or: a good experiment is usually linked to testing the hypothesis, it is repeatable, hypothesis appropriate values are isolated, well documented and openly published for testing. Important process as it allows the process of discovering/disproving scientific theory to begin. An hypothesis which has survived some testing.
