Document Summary

Creativity and incentives research paper 1 (kachelmeier, reichert and williamson) This paper is constructed in a way to test the effects of motivating people to come up with multiple, creative ideas. One group was paid and could do whatever they liked, whether that be sitting down doing nothing, or creating as many rebus puzzles as they wanted. Another was to construct as many rebus puzzles as they could (quantity-based) and would be rewarded with a financial incentive. Another was to come up with creative rebus puzzles (creativity-based) with a financial incentive. The last group was measuring the creativity weighted total score (both quantity and creativity). The difference of the compensation increases as the position level going up. Incentive can be used not only for measuring performance, but also for attracting creative people. For instance, is there something that you did not expect in the methodology.
